Streak Remains Alive
The Senior AA Hornets were back home with a reinforced bench to face the Brantford Ice Cats Sunday

The team welcomed new addition and Laurier alumni, Jessica Prevette to the lineup for a home game against traditional rival Brantford. The Ice Cats were quick and determined in the first period taking a lead five minutes in but the Hornets answered back with goals by Katelyn Turk (3) and Giova Cascioli (5) to take the lead.

Though out-manned, the home team made adjustments in the second period to be more successful in containing Brantford's scoring chances and Maddy Webb (3) scored to widen the lead. Heading into the final frame Oakville added to the lead with Andrea Ziesmann's (1) first of the season and iced the game with a slick back hand goal on the doorstep by Laura Gelowitz (1).

The Ice Cats mounted sustained pressure during the last few minutes of the game forcing Karen Collins to make some spectacular saves. The final score was Oakville 5 - Brantford 1. The Hornets are off next weekend before a road game vs the Ancaster Avalanche December 4.
