First Road Game Successful
The Sr Hornets took to the road for a game versus rival Brantford Ice Cats on Sunday With a short bench the Oakville squad knew they would have a big test.
Brantford was also short handed and the teams started off well matched. In the first period Erin Beaver and Julia Giannitsopoulos scored to set the tone. Oakville scored two more by Evelyn MacLean and another by Beaver before the Ice Cats were able to score and followed up with another to close the lead to 4-2.
In the final frame the Hornets poured it on with three more by Giova Casciola and a pair by Montana Merante. The final score was 7-3. Hornets are off until November 7 when they visit Kitchener.
