The Oakville Hornets are proud to announce the appointment of Carlee Campbell as the organization’s new Director of High Performance Programming (HPP). Carlee brings a wealth of experience as both a player and coach at the highest levels of women’s hockey, making her an invaluable addition to our team.
Carlee’s HPP hockey journey began right here in Oakville, where she played U13 and U15 for the Hornets before advancing to the first-ever junior program in town with the Oakville Ice (prior to the Hornets taking it over). Building on those early years, she went on to play for the Toronto Aeros junior program and later represented Team Ontario Red, capturing 2 gold medals in the 2005 Canadian National Under-18 Women’s Championship (January 2005, November 2005).
She went on to compete in the NCAA with the Clarkson Golden Knights, where she became one of the program’s accomplished defensemen. Carlee was a four-time ECAC Hockey All-Star and earned recognition as the league’s Best Defensive Defenseman in 2009–10. Serving as assistant captain in her junior and senior seasons, she helped guide Clarkson to its best campaign in program history (at the time) and their first ever NCAA appearance.
Following her collegiate career, Carlee was drafted by the Toronto Furies in the 2016 CWHL Draft and competed for three seasons at the professional level.
Carlee’s coaching career has been equally impactful. She began her coaching journey in 2013 with the U13A Hornets, and made her way to the Junior Hornets beginning in 2022. She also has won a gold medal with Team Ontario Red at the U18 National Championship in 2023 & 2024 as Assistant Coach and Video Coach.
Carlee most recently joined the University of Toronto as their video coach, and was named to Team Canada’s U18 National Women’s staff for the 2025-2026 season as video coach as well.
In her new role, Carlee will work closely with Megan Bozek and all Oakville Hornets HPP teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and strategic leadership to both players and coaches.
The Oakville Hornets are thrilled to welcome Carlee Campbell into this position and look forward to the expertise, passion, and commitment she will bring to advancing high-performance women’s hockey in Oakville.
