MEGAN BOZEK APPOINTED AS DIRECTOR OF PLAYER AND COACHING DEVELOPMENT FOR THE OAKVILLE HORNETS
We are thrilled to have Megan Bozek join the Oakville Hornets as our new director of player and coaching development. Megan will bring her tremendous knowledge and experience to every level of hockey and help our players and coaches achieve the next level in their development.

Megan’s career highlights include:
2 time Olympic Silver Medalist (2022 Beijing, 2014 Sochi)
4 time World champ (2013, 2016, 2017, 2019)

Megan, a defencemen, proudly represented the USA National Women’s Hockey Team, solidifying her position as a key player within the US program since 2007. She has earned the prestigious title of two-time Olympic Medalist. Megan earned a silver medal at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics Games and silver medal at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games. Megan played in 111 career games during the course of her career with the U.S. Women’s National Team program (2007-2022) and the blueliner recorded 58 points, including 17 goals and 41 assists. 

A native of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, Bozek started her international career in 2007 playing in the Under-18 Series. She competed in her first IIHF world championship as a member of the U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team, helping guide the U.S. to a gold medal at the 2009 IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship.

A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Megan was part of NCAA championship teams with the Gophers women’s ice hockey team in both 2012 and 2013. Her senior season in 2012-13, she was named a Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award Top 3 Finalist and also earned WCHA Defensive Player of the Year honors. 

Since her retirement from Team USA, Megan has been busy with her tv hockey analyst career, getting married and becoming a mother.

In her new role with the Oakville Hornets, Megan will be instrumental in working with coaches and players within the organization. She will work closely with coaches to implement best practices and ensure that they are well-equipped to mentor and guide their teams effectively. Megan will help enhance the development of players at all levels by employing her in-depth knowledge.Her goal will be to refine their skills, improve their performance, and prepare them for higher levels of competition.

We are a residential children’s camp in Ontario that has been privately owned and operated since 1966. Children from all over the world, aged 7-16, come to experience “The Ultimate Hockey And Summer Camp Experience” on beautiful Eagle Lake.
Tim Hortons
The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program that provides opportunities for kids aged four to nine to play house league sports. The philosophy of the program is not based on winning or losing, but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just being a kid.
