Oakville Junior Associate Coaches 2025-26 Season
The Oakville Hornets Girls Hockey Association are excited to announce Jess Turi & Jay Summers as our new associate Oakville Junior coaches starting the 2025-26 Season.

If you need to contact them at all please email them at: [email protected]

Jess is currently an Assistant Coach with both the Men's and Women's Hockey Program at York University.  Prior to York Jess was an Assistant Coach with the Toronto Six of the PHF, Head Scout/ Assistant Coach with the University of Toronto, Head Coach of Etobicoke Jr. and then Mississauga Jr. in the OWHA U22 Elite League. Jess has coached at 4 National Championships and 2 Canada Winter Games with Team Ontario.

Jay is a very experienced and highly dedicated coach with a proven track record of success. In his 25 plus years of coaching Jay has coached many levels of girl’s hockey including U18AA and Junior. Some of his success over the years include Provincial and League championships as well as multiple tournament wins. Throughout his years of coaching Jay has developed relationships with many University coaches and believes in inviting them out throughout the season to meet with the players, giving the players an opportunity to ask questions and get first-hand information from the university level. They will also run several practices for the girls during the season. Jay has helped many players go on to further their careers post-secondary with scholarships in both the United States and in Canada.

Off the ice our goal is to improve the player’s physical as well as mental fitness to allow them to become stronger individuals and apply that to the overall team performance on the ice. Jay and his coaching staff have a philosophy that hockey is for the girls, and they are there to make their experience both memorable and enjoyable. They are willing to make the commitment to do their best in order to see that it happens, and make sure that the girls enjoy the experience; developing to be the best they can be, both personally and with their hockey skills.
