The Turczyniak Scholarship

The Oakville Hornets Girls Hockey Association is proud to offer the Turczyniak Scholarship, consisting of two (2) $1,000 scholarships awarded annually to graduating Grade 12 players who have demonstrated growth, leadership, commitment, and character through their involvement in the Hornets community.

This scholarship was established by Mike Turczyniak, past President of the Oakville Hornets Girls Hockey Association. Mike created this scholarship to recognize and celebrate devoted graduating players who have spent years within the Hornets organization, consistently showing commitment, dedication, teamwork, and heart—both on and off the ice.

One scholarship will be awarded to a Grade 12 Rep Program player, and one scholarship will be awarded to a Grade 12 House League Program player. Each scholarship is intended to support the recipient’s post-secondary education at a recognized college or university.

The Turczyniak Scholarship is designed to recognize more than athletic performance. Its purpose is to honour players whose experiences within the Oakville Hornets have contributed to their personal growth, leadership development, and positive involvement within their team and the broader community. This scholarship celebrates the lasting impact hockey can have in shaping confident, responsible, and compassionate young women.

All applications must be submitted by March 3, 2026.
