Founded in 1996, the Oakville Hornets Girl's Hockey Association is one of the largest, girls-only hockey clubs in the world. Since our 18th season we have consistently reached over 1,100 registered players. Our program boasts 34 House League teams from U7 to Senior, DS teams in our younger divisions, 22 competitive teams in our rep circuit, 4 High Performance teams as well as our fine Intermediate AA squad competing in the
PWHL.
The OHGHA is run totally by volunteers, and we are blessed with the hardest-working, most enthusiastic people possible. In addition to the countless hockey games during the season, some of our highlight events are the
Harvest Classic Rep tournament in the fall (204 teams in 2018) and our
Annual House League Tournament in February (over 130 teams!). The House League Championship Day is a celebration and wrap-up of our HL season, with all the glitz and hype included.
Our Hockey Moms run various events around hockey games that support organizations such as the
Breast Cancer Society, the
Kerr Street Mission and
Fare Share Food Bank. And we know how to have fun without hockey skates, too: our Volunteer Appreciation Night and Golf Tournament let us kick back outside of the rinks.
