Organization - Return to modified play on November 7th!
Submitted By Hornets on Wednesday, November 4, 2020
The new provincial government framework introduced yesterday will replace the previous guidance by the province and the region of Halton as of Saturday morning. Based on this guidance and contingent on Halton being placed in the yellow category we expect scrimmages and modified game play will be able to resume as of Saturday.
Details for modified 4on4 game play can be found here as per the previously communicated OWHA guidance.
As many of you have heard, the Ford Government has unveiled a new tiered system for COVID-19 restrictions. The new system places each of Ontario’s public health units into one of five different colour-coded categories. Details can be found here.
Halton Region is currently listed in the "Protect" (Yellow) category. However, levels will be confirmed by the province on Friday, November 6, 2020 and become effective on Saturday, November 7, 2020.
The Oakville Hornets would like to extend our thanks to the Town of Oakville and our governing bodies for all their efforts to ensure the safety and well being of our coaches, staff and officials while allowing us to focus on the physical and mental health of our membership. Special thanks go to our coaches, staff, officials and our partners in Burlington, North Halton and Stoney Creek as they are working hard to confirm details of ice times, available rinks and resources.
Please continue to do your part and help us in doing our part in the fight against this virus! Appropriate physical distancing, correct mask wearing and frequent hand washing remain essential. Our best tools to ensure that our girls can continue to skate are following town arena protocols and our own Health Services guidance.

President of the Oakville Hornets
