Senior AA, 2021-2022, REP (Oakville Hornets)

The medal round of provincials featured Oakville vs St. Catharines and McMaster University vs Ottawa and . Ottawa defeated McMaster in overtime to capture bronze while St. Catharines capturing gold and Oakville taking the silver medal for the province.

With St. Catharines hot on their heels, Oakville faced McMaster University with just nine skaters vs the highly populated Mac bench.

The nine day layoff resulted in a sluggish start for Oakville against Ancaster, a familiar foe with several ex-Hornets on their roster.

The Sr AA Hornets had a pair of rare weeknight games that resulted in limited player availability this week.

The Sr AA Hornets had a home and home series scheduled vs Cambridge but the Roadrunners had to forfeit the first game due to weather. In the second game after a slow first period, Oakville got on track with a goal by Jessica Prevette (3). A barrage of Hornet chances in the middle frame resulted in goals by Evelyn McLean (5) and a beauty three pass goal finished by Giova Cascioi (8). In the final period Prevette (4) scored her second of the game. Karen Collins recorded her third shutout of the season making 28 saves.
